Looking Inwards, Not Seeking OutwardsAs we come towards the end of 2019 we can often find this time of year a little overwhelming.  Busy trying to squeeze everything in before the end of the year, planning and attending to everything thrown our way.  It can leave us exhausted and not actually able to enjoy ourselves at this magical time of year.

But what if we used the next few weeks of the year to, dare I say it ….slow down?!

To take time to reflect on the past 11 months, to see how we are really feeling and only then start to create some future ideas and plans.  To look inwards rather than seek outwards.

Even as I am writing this I am thinking “easy to say, not easy to do” and I know I for one will struggle to do this.  However I am seeing (and feeling) the need for self-care more and more.  The world is a busy place and when we try to keep up with this impossible pace it can leave us feeling overwhelmed, tired, anxious and stressed.

This is when self-care becomes even more important.  And the best bit is, self-care is available to all of us!  It can be as simple as:

  • going for a walk in the fresh air
  • turning off our phones in the evenings
  • saying “no” to things we don’t want to do / go to
  • waking up early to sit and focus on our breathing for 5 minutes

To look inwards and recognise what we need before looking outwards, remembering that when we look after ourselves we are able to give so much more to those around us.

Yoga is another great way to help look inwards.  To reflect, to become aware of how we are feeling and to care for ourselves.  Helping us to then embrace the world and look outwards, to enjoy this month and look forward to 2020 and all it may bring.

To help us all with this don’t forget there are over 40 yoga videos on the Yoga Three60 You Tube Channel which you can watch at home.  To hopefully give you that opportunity over the Christmas period to take some time out for you and start your self-care journey this December and moving forwards.

I want to thank you all for a wonderful 2019 and for being part of the Yoga Three60 Community.  Whether at yoga classes, retreats, wellbeing workshops or part of the online community.   You all make Yoga Three60 what it is and I want to sincerely thank you.  It has been a pleasure to see and speak with you all throughout 2019 and I cannot wait to see what 2020 has in store for all of us!

Christmas opening hours

I will be taking some of my own advice and having a break over the Christmas period to spend time with my family and loved ones.  Therefore Yoga Three60 will be closed from 20th December and back on Monday 6th January 2020.    Those who attend regular weekly classes will be notified of the last classes for this year.

I hope you have a lovely December and manage to take some time out for you.  To remember to look inwards and take the time you need for your soul, before seeking outwards.

Thank you again for a fantastic 2019 and here is to a wonderful 2020!
